Background and Context
Founded in 2023, Gtatso was created to redefine the liqueur landscape. The brand set out to celebrate craftsmanship, creativity, and the art of flavour, offering a product unlike anything else on the market. From the beginning, our journey focused on deeply exploring Gtatso’s core — the exquisite ingredients and the nuanced, bold taste that set it apart.
Project Goals
Our mission was to develop a complete brand identity that would reflect Gtatso’s adventurous spirit and premium quality, and to create a visual and verbal language that would connect with a new community of bold, curious consumers.
Creative Process and Significance
Inspired by the richness of botanicals and the layered character of the liquor, the branding process became a meticulous exploration. We built the brand around two key archetypes:
The Jester — representing Gtatso’s playful, joyful, and surprising nature
The Magician — embodying Gtatso’s ability to transform ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences
These archetypes shaped everything from the label design and verbal branding to the tone of illustrations. Every element was crafted to mirror Gtatso’s spirit — cheerful, adventurous, and innovative.
Challenges and How We Overcame Them
One of the biggest challenges was balancing a fun, lively brand personality with the expectation of premium quality. We overcame this by carefully curating a visual language that was vibrant yet sophisticated — blending bold, colorful illustrations with a refined layout and type system.
Another challenge was ensuring the brand would feel cohesive across both physical packaging and digital platforms, which we addressed by developing a flexible visual system grounded in strong storytelling.
Outcome
The final result is a brand that not only offers a superior product but also cultivates a sense of community and adventure. Gtatso launched successfully, attracting a loyal and engaged audience who appreciate unique flavours, creativity, and a fresh take on the world of liqueurs.
